I’ve just published a new article in Crisis Magazine reflecting on one of the most enduring and dangerous questions in political and moral life: does might make right?
In an age marked by war, propaganda, and competing claims to justice, it is easy to lose sight of a fundamental truth: power, detached from truth, becomes destructive. What is often presented as necessity or realism can quickly devolve into moral compromise.
In this piece, I contrast two visions of power. On the one hand, the logic of domination, where strength dictates truth. On the other, the paradoxical power of the Cross, where truth is revealed not through coercion, but through sacrifice.
This is not merely a theoretical question. It bears directly on how we understand war, justice, and our own moral responsibilities in times of conflict.
